42 Random Acts of Kindess!

     A week before my birthday this year, I was on Pinterest searching for nothing and came across a pin that had a woman on the image and it said something about her birthday and random acts of kindness.  I opened the pin and went to her blog and was immediately inspired by all the 38 RAOK she had posted.  After reading further into it, she had performed all of these nice things for people for her birthday!  I was then hooked and researched other blogs with a few people that have done the same thing.  I thought what an amazing idea to give back to people on your own birthday!!!  So here it is...... my 42 RAOK for my August 5th birthday this year......Enjoy and hopefully you will be inspired too and give some RAOK on your next birthday!  It is very rewarding :)

1.  Took the neighbors newspaper in.

                                   

2.  Made a donation to the Red Cross local chapter

3.  Gave a random compliment to my client

4.  Let someone go ahead of me in the store.  Funny how these little things make people so happy!

 

5. Purchased the order for the car behind me in the Starbucks drive thru.

6.  Left a nice note on a random car in the parking lot wishing them a blessed day!

 

7. Donated clothes



8.  Purchased a gift card at a restaurant and dropped it off to two ladies that were seated.  The looks on their faces were priceless and they told me they were having a bad day and how this RAOK made their day.  :)

9. Taped quarters to a water machine with a RAOK note.  Someone was able to get 3 gallons of water for free!

                                    

  

10.  Visited a sick friend in the hospital and took her flowers.

11.  Left coupons on items in the store so other people can save money too!

12.  Paid for someones meter at a local shopping center.  Who doesn't like to shop longer!

13.   Opened many doors for people along the way.

14.  Purchased a magnet with a positive quote on it and stuck it to someones car.

15. Placed the "good soap" in the womens rest room at work.  Women appreciate these little things.

                          

16. Gave a cold bottled water to a homeless man in 100 degree weather.

17.  Made a small donation to the MDA.  Event the smallest donations add up to large ones!

18.  Gave a coupon for a free yogurt to someone at the yogurt place.

19.  Sat down and wrote an actual hand writter letter to my grandmother in New York.

20.  Sent the military a thank you card

21. Took flowers to a hospital and told the front desk clerk to give it to someone that needed a smile.  I really think she thought I was crazy!

22.  Allowed people to merge in traffic all week

23.  Dropped off items at the Homeless shelter for teens

24. Added some popcorn and a kindness note and taped it to a red box movie kiosk

25.  I do events for a living and my client said to throw away her branded pillows after her event.  The staff gathered the pillows (about 35 pillows), placed them in bags, loaded them to my car and took them to Goodwill.  Now someone else can enjoy the pillows!

     

26.  Left a kind note and some hard candy for the mailman

27.  Dropped off cookies to a local Al-Anon meeting

28.  Left "Have a beautiful day" notes in books at the book store

29.  Dropped off Laundry detergent at a laudromat with a RAOK note

30.  Took tennis balls to the dog park so the doggies can have some play time (these dogs were not mine - but I have one just like them!)  They were definitely appreciative! :)

                  

31.  Made cupcakes for the family.  They will tell you that this is random!

32.  Donated a pint of blood. My friend also jumped in and donated too!!!

33.  Sent a nice message to a Facebook friend

34.  Picked up trash at a local park

35.  Dropped off clothing items to a local womens shelter.  My friends donated lots of stuff too!!

                       



36.  Baked cookies for the security at the guard gate.  It put a smile on their face!

37.  Purchased bus passes and handed them out at the bus stop

38.  Left my hubby a love poem on his pillow when he got home from work.

  

39.  Donated items to the local animal shelter.  Pound puppies are the best and they deserve the best!

40.  Gave my manicurist a morning pastry to start off her day!

41.  Placed flowers on random gravesites

And lastly...42.  I gave all my BFF's Starbucks Birthday cake pops on my birthday!

There are 19,000,000 people globally that share your birthday...just imagine how the world would be if everyone shared a little kindness on theirs....
